April 9th, 2009Well the Prince is Back for another action packed adventure with new enemies, More swords fights, More Magical Moments & i can go on & on…..but does it fulfill all the needs to be a great Fantasy Action Adventure Game ? Well lets find out.
About the game,
The game is set in ancient Persia, although the exact century is not revealed. In the game, the player assumes the role of the Prince, whose name is not revealed in the game. The Prince is accompanied by a girl named Elika, whom he met after a large sandstorm diverted him from his course and he ended up in a mysterious land. Players traverse many different environments using the Prince’s acrobatic abilities to scale walls and even crawl on the ceilings. Throughout the journey, players combat various enemies as they attempt to cleanse the land of corruption. You have to Cleanup the fertile ground one by one to move forward in the game,As the game has a free world u dont have any time limits, you can roam around collecting Light Seeds which is fun & difficult at times.
GRAPHICS
Graphics are upto the mark & have done full justice to the game, if you play games on an HDTV then be ready to handle your jaw which will surely touch ur ground.
Art direction Is just awesome makes the game more beautiful. Surely one of the best looking fantasy Action adventure game out there. During the game standing on an edge & enjoying the beautiful view is fun as well as jaw dropping. The game has many high places where you can reach & see most of the place of a particular ground.
Graphics 9/10
Lets find out howz the GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay in Prince of Persia retains a similar feel to the Sands of trilogy, in the sense that the acrobatics, puzzle solving and combat elements remain. However, the game is non-linear, and hence, the players are given the opportunity to explore any part of the world at any time they want to. The player fights enemies variously as they perform acrobatic feats to get from one fertile ground to another, to heal them.
Jumping from wall to wall is too much fun (once you come to know how to do it). Sometimes jumping from certain places can really irritate you as also camera angles in some places is just pathetic, leaving some of these issues at some places controlling the Prince is a lot of fun. Combat largely differs from that in the Sands of Time trilogy, but is similar to that of the original Prince of Persia trilogy. The combat is one-on-one, and there are four main combat options. There is a sword attack, which is where the Prince uses his sword to attack enemies; a gauntlet attack, by which he lifts and throws enemies; a magic attack, by which Elika uses her magic to damage enemies; and an acrobatic attack, which is useful for switching places with the enemy, and performing combat feats in tandem with Elika. All of these four combat options can be linked together to perform combos which do variably more damage to enemies. In later stages of the game, enemies also change state, and can only be attacked using only one of four combat options at a given time, as indicated by the style of the enemy which is also a good addition to the series.

When it comes to SOUND:
The game impresse’s here also, as the Well established and respected Kari Wahlgren provides the voice of Elika alongside an equally well-known Nolan North who voices the Prince. Their excellent performances are sustained and complimented by a script that provides enough diversity to remain engaging and entertaining. I could not find any discrepancies against their efforts and was suitably drawn into their realization of the characters. You’ll glean a lot more about the game world by taking the time to listen to their often whimsical exchanges. Some moments might cause the odd groan, but in general both characters come across as being believable and fleshed out enough for you to care about them.
The game also features an impressive and grandiose orchestral score to add more colour to the ambient sound effects. The theme of the Middle East is certainly prevalent within its tones and lends itself to great adventure and a beckoning of intrigue. It’s obvious some large part of the game’s budget was spent on crafting a loving soundtrack that has been born to felicitate the rest of the audio.

Longevity: As a single player game only, Prince of Persia offers an experience lasting around 10 – 15 hours depending on how thorough you are. If you want to gain all of the Achievements then expect to play through at least twice, although a second play-through will undoubtedly shorten the initial completion time quite considerably.Finding & collecting light seeds for the first time will be time consuming but is fun.As gamers nowdays want much more longer single player games as to enjoy it more,Prince of persia doesnt lack in this field either its big enough, but the problem lies in the difficulty as been very easy it really hampers the longevity of the game as been eazy,it’s easy to beat the game soon.As downloadable content was launched soon after the game was lauched it contained a few more boss fights but then again difficulty really hampered it.

OVERALL > I really enjoyed playing Prince of persia (Every bit of it) Its a great game for gamers who are fans of this genre & those who are not this is surely the game which will make you, except a few minor bugs (Rarely seen), difficulty settings & camera angle at a few places the game is great & a must buy one. If you’re looking for a game that provides elements shrouded in a mystery, desert sands, scorching heat, and passionate characters, alongside a heady sense of adventure, then you would do well to invest in this game. It’s got all the right ingredients to make it well worth playing and remembering once the game disc is placed fondly back into its case after completion. A great game worth spending money on.
